Most pest problems around a house start outside it. Mosquitoes rest through the heat of the day in the shaded, damp corners of a yard. Ticks wait at the edge of the mowed line where the lawn meets brush. Ants, spiders, and crickets live in the mulch and under the siding until something pushes them through a gap in the foundation.
Treating the yard and the band of ground around the house handles those pests where they live, which is a different job from spraying a baseboard once they are already inside. Our technicians work outdoors, on a schedule that follows the northern Indiana season instead of a national calendar.
We are a lawn-health and pest-control company, owner-operated by Steven and Alex out of Pierceton. We do not mow, and we are not landscapers. Every treatment we do is outside the building, on the yard, the beds, and the perimeter of the house.

Lawn pest control, insects in the lawn are a separate problem
The insects that damage turf are not the ones biting you on the patio. Grubs feed on grass roots under the surface and leave patches you can peel back like carpet. Surface feeders like chinch bugs and sod webworms chew at the crown and the blades, and they turn a stressed lawn brown in stretches you might read as drought.
Turf insects get treated as part of your lawn program, timed to when the insect is actually feeding.
A thick, well-fed lawn also gives biting pests fewer places to sit. Tall unmown edges, thin shaded turf, and damp low spots are where mosquitoes and ticks concentrate, so lawn health and pest pressure end up connected even when they are treated separately.

What does exterior pest control cover?
Everything we do happens outside the building. We treat the yard and beds for mosquitoes, fleas, and ticks, and we treat a band of ground and siding around the foundation so crawling insects stay outdoors instead of finding a way in.
When should I start pest control in northern Indiana?
Spring. Mosquito and tick pressure builds as soon as temperatures hold in the fifties and sixties. A perimeter treatment applied before ants and spiders get established is a lot easier than pushing them back out later in the summer.
Do I need to be home for the treatment?
No. Everything we do is outside, so you do not need to be there. We do ask that the gates are unlocked and any pets stay indoors while the technician is on the property.
Is this safe around pets and kids?
Our technicians are trained, and every product goes down according to its label, which includes the re-entry time for that product. We will tell you how long to keep pets and kids off the treated areas before we leave.
Can I add pest control to my lawn program?
Yes, and most of our customers do. Mosquito, flea and tick, and perimeter service can ride on the same schedule as a fertilization and weed control program, on one bill, and the technician is already on the property.
Do you treat commercial properties?
Yes. We handle exterior pest control for offices, churches, apartment grounds, and other commercial sites across Kosciusko, Whitley, southwest Allen and Huntington counties, scaled to the property and the schedule it needs.
